Every day dream about having your own sauna at home. A warm, cozy and relaxing place you can go after a long day at the office, and battling traffic for an hour on the way home. Don't dream about it for to long, because you can purchase an infrared sauna kit for less money then you probably think. Don't think you have the room for it? Again, the foot print of most home sauna kits are the similar size to a desk or coffee table.
What does a sauna kit mean?
The word kit throws some people off when they read it in the context of saunas. It's not a model, it's not a plan or a bunch of pieces to nail and glue together. An infrared sauna kit is a pre-built sauna. A kit comes with your walls, ceiling, floor, and door pre constructed often from cedar, and a sauna heater.
Most kits are held together by latches at each corner for easy construction and tear down, so there is no need for nails, glue or any other adhesives.
Indoor or outdoor use?
Most infrared sauna kits you see at big box hardware stores, online, and in specialty shops are for indoor use. The majority of infrared sauna kits, while very tight to keep the heat in, aren't designed to bare the elements outdoors.
You can purchase a Precut sauna kit designed for outdoor use. These units would be more expensive, but also more elaborate. The appearance is similar, but the construction is more detailed to be able to bare the elements, especially snow if you live in a part of the world that receives it.
What do they cost?
Of course the big question is always what an infrared sauna kit costs. It's all fine and well to day dream about it but if it's so far out of your reach, why tease yourself. Well, the cost is likely less then you think, but still a little more expensive then you'd like.
You can purchase a home sauna kit at most retailers for 00 or less. This would be a 1-2 person unit, designed for indoor use that can be moved quite easily, and transported if taken apart. Larger units are available, but most local retailers won't carry a large variety of models. To shop for variety, use online sauna retailers to compare pricing and dimensions.
